Information on Mini-grants

 

Eligibility --

Accredited, non-profit charitable or educational organizations based in Alachua County and not under the governance of the ACLD or affiliated with the Friends or with agencies of the ACLD are eligible for mini-grants for short-term projects.

 

Project Requirements --

The proposed project must fulfill a "cultural" objective; that is, it must in some way enrich the cultural life of the community. First preference will be given to proposals dealing with one or more of the following categories:
literacy
books, media
literary events and studies, literature
reading-related matters including educational programs
language, including dramatic presentations and oral history

 

Schedule --

Each year the Friends accepts project proposals
from February 1st until March 15th for awards announced May 15th, and
from August 1st until October 15th for awards announced November 15th.

 

We have available for you to download
the Detailed Guidelines for proposals
the Application Form, and
the Contract that mini-grant recipients are to sign when the Friends announce the award and before the Friends provide mini-grant funds.
